Cedar Lane Misnamed in Southern Maryland News story

In an article published September 18, 2020, by Southern Maryland News, Cedar Lane Senior Living Community was wrongly named as a long-term care facility experiencing an active outbreak of COVID-19.

The facts are that Cedar Lane is not a long-term care facility and is not experiencing an active outbreak of COVID-19. In fact, management is aware of no known cases in our community since the health crisis began.

Southern Maryland News has since corrected the error in the online version of the story and will run a correction in next week’s paper. We want to assure our residents and their family members that the Cedar Lane community is not now experiencing — nor has it experienced — a COVID-19 outbreak. We believe transparency is critical in maintaining the valued trust of senior living residents, families, employees, and the public.
